Hi all,
My mechanic dealing with my car is more a Vauxhall buff and know little about Jags. He has come across a small problem.
He had to disconnect the battery to do some other stuff as well as change some fuses that looked corroded. He has tried to start the car won't turn over and there is a red light on the dashboard. We assume the imobiliser has kicked in but we don't know how to reset this. Can someone point me the right way to fix this please.
Cheers
Wullie

Ok story goes that the battery was flat so my mechanic took the battery out and recharged it back up to full again then put the battery back in. It's almost as though the immobiliser has kicked in as the car won't even turn over never mind start. He said there is a red light on the instrument panel as well.
Any ideas folks as am desperate now.

may be try a hard reboot . disconnect battery , wait for 30 seconds ,
touch/hold the car negative cable to the positive cable for 30 seconds or more .
then reconnect earth strap to battery . with a clean fast connection .
and try to get the key back in soon after . and follow the dash display prompts .
if it will let you that is .
i wonder if the keys transponder was too far away from the car for too long after he reconnected the battery ?
it may require the keys re programed or some thing silly .
