Installing new rear view mirror
My auto dimming rear view mirror with compass has died and I have purchased a used onefor a replacement. Before I go out and tackle the install blind, I wanted to post here and see if anyone has done the job themselves and if there are any helpful hints to make the removal andinstall faster or less painless. Thanks for any advice!!

RE: Installing new rear view mirror
I haven't done it but I watched the windscreen guy do it, the plastic shroud around the back of the mirror just unclips, the actual mount is glued onto the glass and the mirror simply slots down into it. It slides up to remove then you can disconnect the wiring.
Pretty straight forward good luck!

mission complete! This was a really easy job, I didn't realize there was a metalmount pre-glued on, I thought I was going to be removing and regluing the mirror. I know a lot of poeple gripe about the design of these mirrors and high replacement costs. I got my mirror used, but fully functional, with compass module for 40 dollars shipped...easy, quick, and cost effective!
