Installing usb/ipod/iphone player

Hello!
So, I have been searching through this forum for information on installing a usb hub (which means I could plug my iphone/ipod adapter into it) or a direct iphone plug into my car. Lots of people are guiding me towards installing a various components such as an ACM or blue tooth attachment. But I just wanted to clarify my cars features before I commit to any path.
I have a 2004 S-Type with a CDC in the trunk and a motorola phone adapter installed in the arm rest compartment. The center console has a large screen and a telephone keypad. There are also microphone slots on the ceiling of the car near the rearview mirror and I believe near the ceiling to the left of the front window.
What I really want is to be able to answer calls and play music through a direct connection to the vehicle (I currently am using an FM transmitter which is great, but clunky and hard mounted so changing music is challenging). Can anyone help me by discussing some of the options I have based on the features I described. In the meanwhile I will continue searching the forums for an answer.
Thanks.

First the microphone if you have it is a separate piece to the left of the overhead console. All the "grilles" you see are sensors for the advanced airbag system. They are measuring you are your passengers position so it can calculate the proper way to inflate the airbags if needed.
Keep searching for the ACM and Bluetooth and if you want it the voice module. Three separate items/modules. It gets kind of complicated.
I will say that at this late date the cars are now owned by people with much smaller budgets than when the cars were new. You will most likely find it WAY too expensive to add any of this unless you find the correct equipped car in a junk yard. Not easy to do.

CarTronics.com, who makes their living developing products with the fiber optics on Jaguar, Mercedes, Porsche and others says they are not aware of a harness for aftermarket head units in Jaguars. They DO have fiber optic applications for bluetooth and i-pod/phone integration, but not for aftermarket Navigation units. They have additional products for other marks.

I had 4 ACMs installed in my 04 STR by the same dealer and they all failed. I was using a memory stick with it exclusively for all. They all died !!!!! It might very well work for iPods etc but you can't tell by my experience. Got my $500+ back from dealer!!!!
Good luck.

I do understand your frustration though. I would have moved on to another dealer after the second fail.
Audio in these cars isn't a straight forward plug in and play proposition.
