insurance cost?

I hate you old people! I expected mine to drop when I hit 25 like so many ppl tell me, but it didn't. Credit plays a huge factor too, which is dumb. Full coverage for me only cost about $10 more a month than my 300m.
Right now I'm at 540/6 months. It was only 480 but 1 lousy ticket in a speed trap jumped it up. Oh yea, this is only liability. I've been screwed on insurance my whole life. And when I lost my job a few years ago my coverage lapsed a few months later. When I called to renew it, Geico more than doubled it. $400/mo for full coverage, more than the car payments! Apparently, if your credit tanks, everybody else feels they should charge you more for everything.
I remember when I had this old new yorker, had the multi-car discount. It was on my plan for several months after I sold the car and figured I should stop paying the extra $20 on it. Removed the car from the policy and my insurance went up. Figures. So word of advice if you have 1 car, go buy a 2nd POS car and park it in the shed, it'll save you money!

I pay about $170 a month for full coverage on my Jag & the truck.. expect it to go down next month when my wreck gets cleared off, and down again a bit when my ticket comes off at the end of the summer.
Before I let the husband buy the Jag for me, I checked insurance and it was only a $40 difference from my Cruiser.

I have perfect credit and a clean record, 4 cars with a multi-policy discount through Liberty Mutual and I pay about $1100 a year just for the STR for full coverage, $50 deductable.
One of the main factors for my higher cost is the area in which I live. There are a lot of high end cars in the area and average repair costs for this area is apparently pretty high. At least that's the line of b.s. the insurance company fed me when I called to whine about the price.

You people outside of Jersey Tick me off... Especially when you complain about insurance!
I'll be 35, good credit, NEVER had an at fault accident or been issued a ticket, and I pay 2400 a year for the S and X types, and 225 a yr for the SL (under collector car ins - limit 5k miles / yr).
250/500k limits, and 250 ded collision / 100 ded comp.
Take care,
George

Here's why:
Dealer plates ARE legal for personal use in NJ. (Unlike FL btw). In order to legally use a dealer plate the car has to be owned by the dealer (either titled in their name, OR have the title reassigned to the dealer).
Anything I pull out of the auction and just keep to flip I drive on a dealer tag.
If I get caught driving something that is titled in my name with a dealer tag, it's a $1k fine, AND I'm risking getting the dealer license suspended / revoked. Not worth it. Plus if there is an accident, the dealer insurance may refuse to cover it.
Take care,
George

Is that every 6 months or a year?? I'm at 750 every 6 months but that is for 2 cars not really sure what just the STR would costs. It would go up if I took the other car off cause of the multicar discount. Where about in NC are you from and how old are you?? Age plays a huge factor.

It depends on several factors, but I'm thinking that it is cheaper getting quotes online. Some of the top insurance companies offer discounts when ordering online, because it is less work for them: An Auto Insurance Calculator – Will Help You When Shopping for Car Insurance

I do have access to a dealer plate, but the vehicles I own (in my name) I have registered and insured.
