Having a problem, need suggestions for my 2002 3.0
About a week ago my wife was driving in town and stopped for a line of traffic leaving the tranny in gear. When traffic started moving again the car would not move (still running). After moving the shifter through both sides of the J gate it finally engaged and she came home. I pulled codes and saw nothing related to the transmission (have since thrown them away). So, I checked the cable bolts and did a cable adjustment according to JTIS. Shifter moved more smoothly and no further problems until yesterday.
She stopped while waiting for traffic when exiting the supermarket and experienced the same thing. This time codes were: B1201, B1676, B2404, and P1233. I should mention that the fuel codes have been around forever. I did recharge the battery.
There were no performance issues while underway, just a failure to engage after stopping while keeping the shifter in "D". Thankfully she was not on a hill when this has happened!
Any thoughts or experiences you guys can share?
Thanks!
