Sorry to bundle my problems; I own a 01 S Type 4.0, 78,000 miles. This forum hepled me about a year ago with a fuel dampner problem. I replaced the front brake pads and rotors a couple of weeks ago and I have been getting an intermitten DSC fault indicator. I had the chassis codes checked and nothing came up. I wanted to disconnect the battery to see if I could erase the code but I and Jag USA do not have the code even though the dealer replaced the battery in 06. Jag USA told me to remove the radio and the code is on the unit, problem is I don't know how to do it and don't want to spend the money for something Jag should have a record of. I get a "thump" once in a while from the engine at idle, is this a concern? I had the coolant tank replaced not long ago and have discovered a small leak at the top of what appears to be a relief valve. I have been told the entire unit replaced about $300.00 plus labor. I would appreciate any comments, sorry for the long winded note.

DSC: no codes, no info.
Radio: Don't want to pay.. go to the dealer ask parts to run your vin number. They MAY be able to help. Say,"Can you run my vin and tell me my radio code?" If it doesn't work you are going to have to pay to remove the radio to get it or do it yourself. The radio may also have been changed at one time, and therefore Jag will have no record of replacement radio code.....sorry. And the radio code is NOT on the radio, what you need is the serial number lon the radio, then cross reference the number to parts dept.
Thump: Misfire, need codes.
Coolant leak: put up a pic.
Done.
