I just installed the ipod audio connectivity module for my 2003 stype v8. The only thing is though, everything is hooked up and installed to the T. Everything is done so perfect and right. But it doesn't work! My ipod nano says jaguar when you plug it in and the logo is on the my ipod screen and charges fine but the CDC button your suppose to hit doesn't do anything. It says it takes place of the cd changer well I don't have one and it never said that one was required for it.
I talked to Jaguar in Florida and a technician said that it has to be programed into the raido to recognize a cd changer?! wtf? is that all about? It never mentioned anything in the accessory booklet for the s-type of a cd changer needed for it to work. I guess they don't plan on customers installing there own parts?

anyways is there anyway of me programing it myself? What happens if i have to replace the battery. He said it doesn't take long to do its really simple but if i go through the shop its going to cost me over 100.00 to do!!!!? So he can do it personally for cheaper. I appreciate him helping me out but what a pain this is becoming. Something so simple all because it wasn't in any book telling me i needed a cd changer.
So i guess iam warning you all that if you don't have a cd changer and want to use the jaguar audio connectivity module it can't be done with out it be programed by a tech. so far at least. I will have to see what he uses to do this. Sorry for the somewhat of a rant but i spent alot of time on this figuring out what was wrong.

Well, if the car didn't come with a CD changer, then the radio isn't programmed to respond to anything when you hit that button. This doesn't mean that you need a CD changer, it's just that the radio doesn't recognize that command. I know it sucks but it does seem that Jag never expected for their customers to install crap themselves. What part of Florida do you live in BTW?

From what I can tell from my S Type R, ti looks like 2 sided adhesive. 3M makes some pretty good stuff. If you have anautobody supply place local to you I would check there.
You may want to check with the shop that is painting your spoiler as they might be able to help you out with the tape.
Make sure that you remove any wax from the surfaces before installing the tape or you won't get a good bond.

I will give you pictures and details when i get a chance. I haven't had time to get the audio unit programed. I will call him later and set up a time and day. Itsa simple install. Just take your time and do a good job. I purchased the kit from Crown Jaguar a dealership down the road from mine where i work. I paid something like $216.00.
