Default It's time to sell my '06 STR

I've decided to sell my baby as I really need something that can fit four adults comfortably for my job. I am sure I will miss it, but I've enjoyed the heck out of owning it. It's a real head turner and I've loved the fact that it's a beast under the hood!

I'll post it on Jaguar Forums as I'd really like to sell it to someone that understands what this car really is. I did post it on Autotrader but the ad isn't showing yet.

It's white/tan with just about every option available. This is what the ad will say:

Excellent condition, Florida car, Always Garaged, Supercharged, All Available Options! Rare and Best Color Combination - White on Tan, Navigation, Bluetooth, iPod /USB (Audio Connectivity Module), Rear Screen Connectivity System with Headrest LCDs, Satellite Radio, CD Changer, Leather & Heated Seats, Sunroof, New Tires, Tinted Windows, Non-Smoker, Clean Carfax, Maintained exclusively by Jaguar!

For those on the forums that know this car, it's had every major item taken care of that the STR 's typically need: Cooling hose under supercharger replaced. VVT Carriers replaced. Both fuel pumps replaced and other misc service completed, all performed by my local Jaguar dealer. I've recently installed new rotors with Red Stuff pads, new tires, and a new headliner. I replaced side marker lights with white euro lights and updated the "R" badges and put the small leaper on the trunk when I first bought the car. I haven't made any performance updates, so it's stock under the hood.

I listed it on Autotrader at $20.5K as a starting point as I've had a few offers in the past in the mid 20's. I think this is reasonable, but the market will determine in the end.

I'll post an ad on the forums, with a link to the ad when it goes live on Autotrader. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=33785&endYear=2006&modelC ode1=STYPE&showcaseOwnerId=0&startYear=2006&makeCo de1=JAG&listingType=used&listingTypes=used&sellerT ypes=b&searchRadius=25&bodyStyleCodes=SEDAN&mmt=[JAG[STYPE[]][]]&listingId=345194506

It's been great being a part of this board. I always know I will get the best advice from the folks here. It's been a pleasure and I hope to be back in the future!

Edit: Forgot to mention that both headlights have also been replaced due to the dreaded saggy light issue.

Edit: I lowered the price this morning to $18,900...

There really isn't enough leg room for four large adults... I sit with the seat back so far that it leaves about 6 inches behind me... It just isn't working. Being in sales, I need to have reasonable comfort for my customers when I drive them anywhere and squeezing a couple of 6'+ guys in the back hasn't been real successful.

That's a gorgeous STR. If I were looking to buy one, I would make you an offer in a heartbeat. But we're good with our current stable mix....

I expect someone here on the forum will wind up buying it from you. Keep us posted....

Looks beautful, though I'm not in the market at this time. If I were, however, would like to see the number of owners since new, accident repair history (if any) and grade of fuel used. Just for completeness.

Click on the autotrader link, which will yield a carfax link with some of the info you seek. Awfully tempting, if only I wasn't up to my elbows under the E-Type bonnet.

Yeah, I know, but all I need to see is "One owner, no accidents, premium 93 always used". Then, I might be prepared to spend $39.99 on a Carfax report.

Ehrrrmm...the link to the Carfax report in the Autotrader ad gives you the report for free.

FYI, I paid $500 more than that almost 3 years ago for my car with 14K miles and 1 year of Jag's extended warranty on it. Have these cars begun to appreciate? That would be nice.

Sorry, SCMike. You are right, I did a generic Autotrader search and checked the wrong car!
Kelly Blue private retail with standard equipment in excellent condition is just over $17k, but it does have new tires and some nice add-on's.

Sounds like you got a killer deal! I paid $29k for it three years ago with 2 years of Jaguar warranty...

Hey, I'd buy it in an instant, if you could get it up to Boston... :-(

If there isn't enough from in the back for two, get a roof rack and put one up there. Problem solved.

For anyone shopping, I lowered the price this morning to $18.9K. I've received a couple of inquiries at the $20K price, but nothing serious yet.
