I have returned...(hold the applause , please) LOL I just got a call from the Jag service center and they informed me that they are replacing my transmission. They say it will take about a week or so for them to order a new one, so I will be back then and keep you guys informed.

You know what...doing a bit of google search yielded that no, used cars are not covered under the lemon law...BUT if you were to pursue legal advice, you would be able to either get satisfactory repairs on your recurring problem, or some other appropriate reimbursement as long as your vehicle is still under the factory warranty.
Which makes sense...if its covered under the warranty and you took it in to get it fixed and they are unable to...it's their fault and you shouldn't have to suffer.

Hey Gang,
8th time in for the same reason, and its still jumping. This is really a disappointment because I love everything else about this car. I'm basically upside down about 4k in my value but I think I will just have to bite the bullet. I just picked it up theis morning and they told me they reflashed it again, as soon as I pulled out of the dealership, it lurched forward. They told me not to drive it to full throttle or in sport mode for 100 miles. I will do that but as it stands now...i'm still getting the lurch.

is the car lurching foward.. at what speed? or when you downshift you have a harsh downshift? ... into 1st .. it seems all there doing is clearing the shift adaptations and reprogramming the tcm and ecm... really not gonna fix this... do they know if the correct software is in the tcm...? the car needs to be cleared of the shift adaptations.. then has to go thru coded access .. thru jaguar hotline..

lets all sue jaguar for improper and unsafe car manufacturing. why should u break down if u pay 50K plus for a car. it should run longer then u live. seems the more u spend these days the more it breaks down.. i know some people with benz's and they hate them.. say there worse then jaguar.

That is the other side of cutting edge. The upper end manufacturers invent all this stuff, then the other manufacturers copy it once the kinks are all worked out. Since they are the umpteenth company to better the design, it works better. Creativity is tough, making a quality copied part makes cars affordable for all of us. Remember the day when only those fancy cars had electric windows? No, it's hard to find a car without them!

My 03 str does the exact same thing. When the car is just about to stop I get a slight jerk forward. What I think it is is the car downshifting into 1st gear just before stopping giving the nudge feeling. Next time you drive pay close attention and see if you think that this is what yours is doing.
