So my GF's 2005 S-Type 4.2 started dripping fluid on the ground, and by the time I noticed it she had a gearbox fault warning the next day and was noticing some sticking gears. We took it to the dealership who told us the transmission cooler lines were leaking and needed to be replaced. They wanted a mere $1600 to do it

I'm going to probably take it to an independent Jag shop but was wondering if anyone has ever replaced these two hoses and if the procedure is relatively straight forward or is a real pain in the a$$. I also would like to add some fluid to the transmission to at least allow us to drive it up to the shop without having to put it on a flatbed. The leak has probably gone unnoticed for some time. I know it's not as easy as pouring new fluid in a filler hole on these things. Does anyone have a link to a DIY along with a fluid recommendation that I could use to top the thing off?
I have a PayPal account
