Default Jaguar Bluetooth

Hello folks,

I have a 2005 S-Type (Base with non-alpine nav).
My steering wheel has a phone button, which when pressed, simply mutes the radio. The nav has a phone button which when pressed says phone not fitted.

Therefore, I believe I have already installed the C2C34515 PSE Module on my steering wheel.

That leaves me needing the Microphone, and the C2S49706 BlueTooth Module, as well as the XR849174 Fiber optic Harness, and the XR849466 Fiber optic Link Lead.

Is this something that a stereo shop can install if I get those parts, or is this a dealer only install? I don't want future electrical issues if a stereo shop says they can do the job, but really should not be fooling with a Jaguar's wiring.

I could not find wiring diagrams anywhere on line. I think my car is "pre-wired" to accept these parts given I have the Nav and that PSE Module part already on my steering wheel.

Any advise is greatly appreciated!

It's been said you can use the jag fitting instructions (same site as forum sticky gives for the handbook) and also that the X-Type diagrams are the same. Probably here http://jaguar.bttlxe.com/xtype/

Look for posts by WinterJag as well.

Here are the Bluetooth installation instructions...Along with the phone manual.

I don't know what you mean by "PSE Module" on the steering wheel....

ALL cars come with the phone button on the wheel and ALL audio head units have a phone button.

The phone systems consist of a Phone Module, Bluetooth Module, and associated wiring. As you see, once you have the correct components, the install is all plug 'n play. You just need someone who knows how to take apart the various parts of the interior.

Now comes the cost... Last time I priced all the components, it was close to $1,500 to fit the phone. Ummm.... My $50.00 visor mount speaker phone works just fine......

Where's Nalley Jaguar when you need them with a deal on this like the video system!

@JOsworth:

Tried to open the link attachments you posted, even though I am logged in, says I do not have sufficient privelages to access?

Could you e-mail them direct to me at jordan.n.ray@us.army.mil

Thanks!

The C2C34515 PSE Module ($500.00) can be found here:
https://www.jaguarparts.com/catalog/...oducts_id=1133

MY steering wheel has an item which looks exactly like this part- so thats $500 off the parts list (I hope)

The other needed parts are only about $340, being the:

C2S49706 BlueTooth Module $160.00
C2C29785XXX Microphone $60.04 (where XXXX is color code needed)
XR849174 Fiber optic Harness $55.30
XR849466 Fiber optic Link Lead $63.99

The parts are not too bad, just a matter if a local stereo shop can do the install at a fraction of what a Jag dealer would charge....

No problem, I'll send them. But, you seem to be fixated on an issue that many seem to have... That is, "I have the buttons, so I have the feature". Unfortunately, you don't. The fact that you know you need the microphone tells me that your car does not have a phone. The buttons on the wheel are all the same for every car. In non-phone equipped cars the "phone" button on the wheel is simply a mute button.

The system needs three main components. A Phone Module, a bluetooth module, and the microphone. The kit will contain all the required cables. The part link you provided is for a Bluetooth module. That needs to be connected to a phone module. The other part you list as the Bluetooth Module is listed as an interface. That site, BTW, is run by my dealer in Cleveland...
Even if you have the list of required parts correct, you are still looking at $840.00.
To be honest, you can get a nice head unit with bluetooth for that kind of money.

So, check your e-mail, and I think you'll get what I'm saying...
