Does anyone have any pictures or directions on how to replace the "Growler" on the actual grille?

I dont want to replace the bonnet / hood leaper, I am talking about the smaller growler face / badge on the grille. I currently have a chrome one and have purchased a red one to replace it. I am going with the whole silver and red theme on the car and already have the red center caps for the wheels. Not looking to go crazy but a few little red trinkets here and there really looks good against that silver body!

The Parts Manual illustration of the two grille patterns which have a growler badge appear to show two mounting holes in the grille:



If the fixing lugs on the growler badge aren't threaded, it will probably be secured with star washers.



These are spring clips.

Awesome! That is exactly what I was looking for! I couldn't tell if it was clipped on or fastened with the star / locking washers... I know the replacement is threaded so I ay have to modify a bit but the holes in the diagram look correct to my replacement growler.

 

I got my "Carmine Red" Growler today in the mail direct form the UK. I have to say this one is much nicer than the stock plastic one. This is a solid metal piece and really sets off the nose of the old girl.

I have the red growler wheel caps on my XF Cygnus wheels they actually look better on our old S-Type than they do on the XF IMHO, but hey I am an STR fan so I am biased.

For anyone interested in upgrading their grille growler badge you can find them on eBay for around $10 us in Red, Balck, Chrome, Gold etc etc. They are supposed to be for the X Type but with a drill, machine screw and a flat washer its an easy fit!
