I've been having a problem with my jaguar when trying to start it where the starter will turn, but the car will not start until about 8 to somtimes 25 tries. I just replaced the fuel pump, sender and fuel filter and it worked for a day than on the second day it went back to taking awhile to start which makes me know something else is wrong. Check engine light is on and its running lean in bank 1 and 2 because of a vacuum leak that is getting fixed but i dont think that is the case. Sometimes when it does fire up after a few turns, it seems to want to stall making me turn key back to off. After a few times it than fires right up running great. When running awhile if I turn the engine off and run in a store it fires right back up. It also seems to give me problems after it sits for awhile. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! Shop seems to be clueless and has me worried....Sometimes when I pull the key out its HOTT!!!

I had some issues starting up when I first got the car (in the dealer parking lot, as a matter of fact) that turned out to be a bad battery.
The battery read as charging fine, but the car wouldnt start. A new battery fixed the issue instantly.
I'm a new owner, so I'm sure other people on the forum have more insight, but that might be a place to start.

I am getting a code lean in bank one and 2. Thats the only codes which is why I am getting vacuum leak fixed but it makes me wonder if a vacuum leak could cause that much of a problem. And I doubt its the battery because it has full power and turns over to start just seems like it wont fire and when it does it stutters till it stalls.

And I can sit and detail car and listen to music forever without having to jump it. So confused because I know jaguar's are huge on electrical. Could it really be the battery still? Makes me feel like something in the car is telling the fuel to not kick on but after a few turns and I mess with it, it turms right over (or turns over than wants to putter and stall till I turn off than on again and it fires right away...

Check the inertia switch (driver's side under dash panel forward front door) make sure the button is fully depressed.
