Default jaguar s-type 2005 transponder circuit board chip

Hi All,
I purchased a spare Jaguar Keyfob Transmitter Chip from E-Bay. 4 Button Car Remote Key Fob 433MHz Chip & Blade For Jaguar X Type S Type XJ XJR | eBay
I have had the key programmed, however the keyfob doesn’t want to pair up using the `Switch to position 2, 4 times method
I opened up and have attached the image showing spare chip on left and my existing chip on the right. They are different to the eye, however it may be that the one I purchased is more modern? Can anyone help with this?
TIA

Jim

I dont think you can pair it to the car using the method your using. You need to program it using SDD. If you could just do it like you said, think about how easy itd be to steal your car.

Jaguar dealer, competent independent shop, or a dedicated/knowledgeable amateur with a laptop and the cloned factory program. A word (or two) of caution though. Two keys are required for the programming and if botched, you can "brick" the car...

keys are texas 4d60

remotes are any of the ford 4 button family from 99 and up, jaguar flip key is the nicest shape obviously. program new key transmitters and good to go

launch will do both faster than IDS

I was wondering if the chips were compatible. They look different, however times change?

You got the 433Mhz FOB are you sure that is the correct frequency? This Jaguar TSB on FOBS says that the S-Type has a 315Mhz FOB from 2004-2006. It also lists what VIN's this pertains too.

As mentioned above the only way to pair key fobs with the S-type is to use the Jaguar software.
If you car was made in January 2004 or newer then the Jaguar SDD software is needed. (05 model year or newer.)
If your car was made before January 2004 then Jaguar IDS software is needed.
In both cases the process to add fobs first requires all the existing ones to be deleated and then all the fobs added again.
A dedicated interface is also needed to run the software that only works on an old Windows XP PC with a date reset each time it is turned on.
Not only that but new versions of the Jaguar SDD software do not work with the S-type any more, so it is possiable that even the dealers will nott be able to help you!
