Jaguar S-Type 4.0 eating coil packs
I have a 2000 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 V8 and it seems to be eating coil packs for breakfast. I am getting the 4th one changed tomorrow and this will be within three weeks..... They are all on the same bank (right hand side).
I had the third one changed on Tuesday, and the car was running and ticking over perfect. All day yesterday it was also perfect. I then get in this morning to go to work, and the final one on that bank has gone and the car is running like a bag of nails again. I took it back to the garage, and they have confirmed the final pack has given up the ghost.
Now, is this coincidence, or could there be another cause?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

I also recommend changing all 8 coils and plugs at once. You can get the coils for a very reasonable price on EBay. Remember they are the same as the Lincoln LS coils. Also when you changed the coils were any of the rubber boots wet with oil or other liquid? It is very likely on a 2000 model that you will need to change the cam/valve cover gaskets because of leaks. Be sure and replace the plug well seals at this time. They should all come in the same gasket kit.
