Cool Check for Original coils

Make sure your mech technician applied original coils. If you put some Ford replacement coils, there is a thread that is not the same measure and the ground cable will not reach a neutral current so will not work. This rpm unstable are very common after coils and its plugs had been damaged by passing heavy rainfall accumulation. If you want to hear the failure to make sure is firing problem, take the trac control off and put the gas to a drag speed take off, you will hear the missed firing. It should burn some tires if engine/transm is ok.

Poor repairs = push car over cliff? Well, your car, your choice, but proper repairs would be much cheaper and far better IMO.

BTW, you're going to be doing the same with non-jags and for the same underlying reason.

Hello, i Had that problem. I tried everything. Computer always went to same cylinder. Everything was new. You know what was the problem? Replacement coils and plugs, not original ones. The screw slightly changes. I put original ones and i can burn my tires again with the trac control off and some heavy take off!

Yes, you can add your vehicle details to your signature so we don't have to waste our time asking what year, engine etc.......

Oh and welcome to the forum. You might want to stop by the "New Member" area and properly introduce yourself per forum protocol.

All,
I am interested to know the end of the story as my S have similare defect since.... 4 years without any solution. The only positive aspect is that I saved fuel.......
The idle is instable. No fault code and lake of power.
What is the correct range value I should read on 02 parameter with an OBD tool?
Thanks

Of the various faults claimed, which one(s) do you mean? Best start a new thread just for yours. Also say whether the tensioners have been changed to the metal-bodied ones and (if you know them) the fuel trims at idle & about 2500rpm (engine hot, parked).

Default restricted performanve

At slow speeds my s type diesel goes into limp mode. The fault code indicates accelerator pedal. Have tried a new pedal...problem remains. Crazy thing...I can drive for 50 miles no problem. Then suddenly this problem starts and continues for upto 30 minutes. Anyone any ideas or solutions?

Start a new thread, giving complete details of the car and the event instead of tacking on to someone else's old dead post.
