Jaguar S Type R Headlight Adjuster Repair Kit
#22
Once you have your repair kit and have taken off your headlights -open them up by heating the silicone sealant by using a heat gun or put them in the oven (100 deg C for 5mins).
Remove all remnants of the original white plastic parts that attach to the two adjuster screws and clear out the two ball joint receivers on the back of the reflector that will attach to the new ball joints when they are screwed onto the adjuster screws.
This video below viewed a few times and paused at crucial times let’s you see what parts go where prior to re-attaching the reflector to the housing.
Last to attach is sliding the adjuster motor into its holder and lock it in position.
Silicone spray lube the adjuster screws helps a lot.
There are multiple sources of info on how to do this job and it’s pretty easy.
Good luck!

LEDs
I have the 3.0 base S-Type without HIDs. The biggest problem I found with trying to replace the standard low beam bulbs with LEDs was the lack of clearance between the front of the bulb and the removable rear dust cap. LEDs were simply too long to fit inside the low beam housing with the cap in place. Moreover, LEDs typically have a wiring pigtail which must somehow be routed out of the housing and attached to the electrical connector.
You'd be tempted to just leave that dust cap off (which is a really bad idea), but you'd still contend with limited space between the rear of the low beam and the immovable frame member directly behind the low beam where the windshield fluid reservoir is located.
On the other hand, I installed LED high beams with no difficulty whatsoever. They work great and light the entire roadway way more than my incandescent high beams ever did. Plus they last way longer than standard bulbs. And if there's one thing I really hate in life, it's replacing light bulbs.
Good luck!
