jaguar str vibrates on idle and goes into restricted performance mode on acceleration
Hello, so I am new to jaguars and I recently replaced a bad coupler in the nose drive of the m112 supercharger. I put everything together and the noise it was making stopped. although now I have another problem. Here are all of the symptoms. When I start the car, on idle it does a weird vibration. Even when I'm in gear and come to a stop I notice it as it shakes the car. When i throttle on nutural, it goes up to 4000 rpm and wont go any higher than that and kinda bounces from there down to 3000 rpm and back to 4000. Also, when in acceleration, the check engine light starts to flash as it goes into restricted performance mode. When I ease off the gas performance mode goes off. I don't know what it might be or if anyone that had such problems could possibly help me out. I would appreciate any help I could get. Thank you.

S-type V8 2003 sedan 141K miles
Started doing the same thing..Help me with explanation before I get taken at a mechanic. Just paid someone last week $680. for a tune up because he said it was all it needed. He did use all jaguar plugs and something else I forgot he showed me the parts. Now the sensors are really going crazy. Engine coolant low and the car is not running hot and now restricted performance light. It vibrates at start and goes away. Thinking of taking it to the Jaguar dealer now what other options do I have unless I go in and act like I know what I am talking about other than that I never go under a hood. Thank You so much for information
V8 S-type 4.2 141K miles.
The codes are as follows P1316, P0171, P0174, P1111, P0300
cylinders 1,2,3,5,6,8
This sounds serious to me
Thank you

Oh well, you are where you are.
I'd read the OBD status to see which monitor(s) haven't set and also check the fuel trims, hoping for clues.

Could I have possibly gotten the p1000 due to disconnecting the battery before taking off the supercharger when I had to rebuild it? I dont want anyone to mess with my car so i do everything myself and I just want to get some pointers as to what I could start with to fix my car.

Don't know about the techs, but a reset or extended battery disconnect will result in a P1000 "not ready" state.
It's not really a problem for diagnostics because the P1111 ready state is not required before any valid fault codes also post.

03Blackjagstr – The P1000 is a diagnostic monitoring code and when your system monitoring is complete it will go to P1111. For you at this point disregard this code it is mostly used for emissions.
The P0306 is correct indicating #6 cylinder misfire.
The P1314 & P1316 could be related to the #6 misfire so get it fixed first
Yes when your car goes into restricted performance it will limit the revs to about 3000rpm I should also mention that with no problems with the car the limiter will also limit the revs when in “P” & “N” so do not be surprised.
Only use the codes from your Torque OBDII reader and use the attached list for the true definition on what they mean and you will not be misled.
