JTIS Not working at all... "Windows 7" I need Help!

I've been experiencing a problem with my JTIS CD. I've contacted the Ebay Seller and even after a second CD and a drirect online download, I still not able to use the JTIS Program...
It says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.. So what’s going on? I need to work on my car ASAP!
My computer has "Windows 7" and with the new CD the problem persists. Maybe there is something I’m doing wrong?
Can somebody help me?
Thanks,
JG

Is your Win 7 64 bit? (x64)
If so, it will not work.
The only way to get it to run on x64 is to run it within a Virual PC with a 32 bit (x86) OS.
Virtual PC is a free Microsoft product, but you'll have to install an x86 OS like XP within that VPC, and install JTIS within that OS.

Compatibility mode will not help with installing DAO.
DAO is a Data Access Library which is only available in x86, it will not install in x64.
JTIS uses DAO which is severely outdated, and deprecated.
There is a manual CD available which is web based, and does not rely on DAO, see my thread on JTIS alternative.

I'm running the same setup. JTIS is not supported on Windows 7 x64.
Solution is to install Microsoft Virtual PC and under that virtual PC, install Windows XP x86 and on that windows install ur JTIS.
It should work like a charm.
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks,
Rizwan

Some files are PDF so you don't need anything special. Many others are .SGM (SGML) so are text with mark-up. Slightly awkward to read but just open them in anything that handles text files (Office, notepad, wordpad, whatever). Saves buying yet another windoze licence.
Wonder if it installs under WINE in Linux - completely free if so.
Really helpful of Microsoft to dump DAO thereby stuffing their users - again. Can't think why one of my mates has dumped Microshaft n bought a Mac Mini. His son already moved to Linux.

During the install of VPC on my Vista Home Premium x64 an error dialog appeared saying something like "not designed for this OS", or "Will not install...", or some such thing.
There is an [ignore] button that I clicked, and it installed and runs fine on my Vista Home Premium.
The VPC is free, can't lose for trying ...
