Default Just got my 07 S-Type R !!!

Just drove home from Jag dealer in Miami, runs great. Silver, shiny, smells like a new car! Discovered it has the adaptive cruise, which the dealer never mentioned. Was that a standard fit on this model? The research I did before I bought led me to believe it was an option? Thanks.

I thought the adaptive cruise was standard on the R but I'm not sure. Anwyays, that's a sweet ride. Congrats!

Adaptive cruise was an expensive option ($2200 in 2005!) and NOT standard on the "R". I hope you have the blue tooth and the ipod-USB interface in the center console as well. The last two I wish my 2005 had. They were options but the original owner of my car did not order them. Jaguar Voice is also a nice option and all the STR's are pre-wired for it.
I am trying to add these to my car but can't find any suitable cars in the junk yard.

I have absolutely no use for adaptive cruise.

The adaptive cruise is amazing. I am going to look to see if the car has JagVoice.

How did you know it had adaptive cruise? Are there any extra buttons or switches that aren't on the standard STR?

NVMYJAG: I first noticed when I was on the freeway, I'd engaged cruise, and then as I closed in on the car up front, I could feel mine coast and a little amber light came onthe dash lit up. Later reading the manual I found that tell's the driver the car is in 'follow mode', and will adjust it's speed according to the speed of the car in front. Switching to an empty lane, my car accelerated back to the set cruise speed. And when some clown cut in front of me, my car actually braked slightly of achieve the preset gap. There is an additional switch on the steering wheel just behind the main cruise control switches, it's for setting the 'gap' to suit the driver's preference. Feels pretty science fiction when I experienced it for the first time.

I'd rather not say. It's a Jag CPO car, only 18k miles.

You know...seeing someone's bright and shiny new ride makes you fall in love with your own machine all of over again. Great picture, love the rims and have a blast.

Jason - I clicked on your need for speed bike link below your sig. What a great video!

Best,
Eric
