Just picked her up, a couple of questions of course...
Firstly and most importantly I have a noise which can be heard from the rear end of the car, it is heard under hard acceleration or kick down, it makes the noise in any gear or speed and it sounds like a "whoop" noise, lasts for no longer than a second and goes away, doesn't make the noise driving normally or through normal gear changes.
Personal ideas perhaps the diff although its a very strange noise for a diff to make (no whuring to be heard) or could be a suspension part as the rear end of the car sits down under acceleration (although pushing the back end down by hand has no effect).
Secondly I have a squeaky break pedal, can only be heard inside the car, sounds like a spring, can this be greased? If so which part? I've read theres a break light switch that could cause it.
Thirdly take a look at these pics and tell me if this is ok as to where my temp gauge is sitting, while driving it normally stay just under half way, when parked its moves half a millimeter slightly past half way. One picture is from the drivers angle and it looks like it dead on the middle but when I moved the camera straight above the gauge you can see its slightly up.
Over all very pleased with the car and amazed how nice it is to drive, it's very nearly on par with my X308 XJR in term of comfort.
As I was concerned on the tested drive about the whooping noise the chap put a 12 month Warranty Wise Silver cover on the car for my peace of mind.

What year is your S-Type? If you have the ZF 6HP26 transmission (model years 2003 to 2008 in the U.S.), you are likely hearing the infamous "ZF squawk". Do a search here on the forum and you'll read many threads pertaining to it. Your best chance for curing it is an ATF drain-and-fill with the appropriate fresh fluid....
