im finally giving up on my intake from jaguarxp& going back 2 the old stock. does any1 know if K&N makes a air filter for 03 str. i found 1 that was supposed to fit (K&Npart#332273) but when i orderd it at a near by shop it was the wrong size. is jaguar stock air filter my only option ??

 

That only fits the regular 4.2 not the R. Best way is to call K & N direct and speak to a live person.

 

[&:][&:]???CONFUSION I installed my jagxp intake on my str....was i not supposed to? it seemed to fit. of course there were no instructions with it but i made it work in about 20min.

 

I have a K&N on my car. I believe that there 2 sizes. I took my air filter in to the auto parts store and they measured it. The computer showed the dimentions so I got the right one. It fits perfectly.
The part # on the box is 33-2273. I would check to make sure that you got the right one!

 

badmojo is right, 33-2273 is a direct drop in for the 4.2 V8 n/a or s/c version. Just put one in my beast last weekend.

 

yeah it works, ive had the drop-in in mine for a while now and it works great. I could def notice a little pick up in performance and fuel economy and slightly more noise, very nice!

 

i looked everywhere for a drop in for mine i cant find it anywhere. i thought i found it (part 33-2273) but its not right. i see badmojo said there are 2 different sizes ...does anyone know the part number for the second size

after seeing the measurements for the filter (#33-2273) on the k&N site i took my air filter out my car to measure it & the outside length & outside width was both correct but only the height was off & i dont think that would matter. when i received the filter that i ordered it was too long & not wide enough. i checked the box & it was part 33-2273 but was not the same specifications as on there site.

 

yup as they suggested they sent mis-boxed the one you got sent. That is the part number of mine and it fit perfectly. Just try again, sorry that it was so difficult though! i hate when that kind of stuff happens.

 

maybe this is because i'm sorta wasted right now... but i would: look up their address where you ordered it from... drive there.. walk into the front door.. march up to the receptionist.. slide the filter out of the box, look the receptionist straight in her eyes.. and slap her up side the head with the misboxed filter and say "see this! its the wrong filter in the right box..." .. "this better not happen again!" then put the filter back in the box and get back in my car and drive away.. quickly..

Well thursday night we just got trashed and built a big bonfire with a bunch of dead trees on my friends estate, but last night was the Florida Room at the delano and a pretty good amount of predrinking at my friends house and then an after party on the beach.. hey bmw, you should come up here to CT as well. Between New Haven and Bridgeport, we have a lot of clubs ........ Hip Hop is the best. In 2005 I went to see Wu-Tang at Toad's place in New Haven (good times). You should come and visit sometime............. 1.dont make it auction with BIN, only use BIN with the option to make a best offer
2.make your title all caps like CUSTOM S TYPE LIKE NEW LOW MILES GREAT PRICE
3.Get rid of stuff that might scare a buyer if you know its truly not broken or a big deal: CD changer being disconnected, the scuffs, and the window switch needing a bulb....its not like your car isnt truely broken
4. dont tell them its not a 1 owner unless they ask
5. Change the font to something non standard but basic and make it larger, make it black background like i have it makes your pictures pop, its all HTML encoding
