Default Key replacement: Complex question

The question is, With a computer and matching
ignition (NO KEY) is it POSSIBLE for a dealership
to make a key without the entire being on the
premesis?

Complex background: Live in FL; have summer
cabin back in mountains where I keep the Jag.
Due to vandalism, the ignition and computer box
were taken (along with many other parts). I
have obtained replacement parts for all these.
The replacement computer box and ignition are
100% function and match, but there is no key.
The cost to tow the entire car to a Jaguar dealer
is prohibitive.

Since I have the title, registration, bill of sale
for the after-market (used auto parts source, what
I called 'junk yard' in my younger days), is it
POSSIBLE for a Jaguar dealer to make a key that will
operate the car? The question is NOT "is thare a
dealership WILLING to do so; but is it POSSIBLE if
the dealershilp WANTED to do so.

Email is dhbridge at yahoo. Thanks for all input.

I could have that thing running within a few hours, At this point i would have converted it over to a push to start system.
From the OP's description of stolen parts I am doubtful, though maybe what he wrote is not what he meant.

The ring merely conveys the key ID to the computer - which he says has been stolen. That part is only one in several linked security parts and a simple replacement will likely cause anti-theft lock-out won't it?

that and he already has replacement parts, problem i for see is programming the ECU/BCM to recognize whatever transponder was programmed. See this is what gets people in trouble, just buying random stuff without relizing that it needs to be programmed to that vehicle for it to function. Yeah basic stuff like dome light circuits and door locks will for sure work, but transponder network will not. It is an infinite number of key programs

I'm trying to flag up that I think your first reply to him was wrong LOL

TBH I can't think why they'd take the stuff the OP says. It's almost like a clever attempt to find out how to bypass the security system on the S-Type. (Which is hard!)

what were both trying to say in a nutshell, is your gonna most likely have to take it to the dealer. Unless you want to mdify the vehicle. And finding someone near you even capable of doing so.

On some cars or specifically on the S-Type? (I think you've overlooked or don't know how it works.)

Missing the original PCM but with a PCM from a scrap car you'd be unable to wire things so as to start the car - right? You'd have to reprogram, wouldn't you?

BCM? The S-Type doesn't really have one. Are you thinking PCM (aka ECM) or the FEM (aka FECM aka GEM aka GECM) or what?

yes and no, and it is most cars are the same way. they have fail safes built into them, but your right on your other post, if it isnt a member that has been around for a bit, im shutting my trap now.

Ford's PATS system isnt that hard to network. Jaguar's x-type are exactly the same as ford and mazda, however the S-type is different. Im not going to say exactly whats different, but you cant program the ford securlock key to it, that is for sure.

BCM is a standard acronym for me, i deal with that all day long

yeah.......ecm's pcm, ipdm, epbm, too many acronyms for me. Bad thing is i have to study and integrate to many different cars, so everything to me is a bcm, it makes it easier. i gotta remember that not everyone can know what i mean over the internet

Thanks. What I was calling "computer box" I understand is
the Front Electronic Module. The navigation system, TV,
VCR (trunk), ignition, and many parts from under the hood
were all taken. I can return the FEM and ingition that I bought
but only for credit toward other parts. The Jag dealership has
told me that they will not program after-market parts anyway.
I am down to the option of just selling the car FOR PARTS ONLY.
It was only used 10 weeks a year but it seems a shame that this
dilemma cannot be solved. Thank you again.

That's sad. You're in unique territory.
