Default Keys

Got a question about keys. I bought my 05 STR used and got 2 keys, one was the transponder that flips out with the unlock and lock and such, and the other was just a normal key. Well yesterday I was messing around and went to unlock the door with the key been using the remote the whole time and it didnt go in the door. So I thought well its probably the other key I got cause thats how my Audi was there are 2 seperate keys for the door and ignition. Well that key also didnt work it was a spare ignition. So my question is is there 2 keys one for the doors and one for the ignition or did mine maybe get an ignition replaced or something???

No there isn't two different keys. The "flip out" key is the main key and the plain one should only work the door and ignition since it is a valet key. The valet key should not work the trunk. It does sound like the ignition was replaced.... I don't think a small shop would have the tools to do the programing that comes with that so your local dealer should be able to find it by looking up the service history for the car.
