hello my 2002 x type B1313 gives this error. Jaguar's error code list starts from B1315. The browser is original icarsoft. There is a problem but the solution is not in the manual. I hope thermo will enlighten us

Do you have other codes? Chances are it is P1313...

I doubt it. A better tool is needed!

Hey Darrol2004 can you check that error code?
I am seeing it's related to the FEM and failure of switched system relays. Whatever those are?

Nothing to do with battery saver? Again whatever that is?

Now if it is a P1313 instead we are way off here! That is not a good one as it indicates catalytic converter damage is occurring due to excessive miss-firing.
But you mention the car is running fine so no miss-fires correct?

Can’t access the wiring diagrams from my cruise ship, but I think the switched system relays are for circuits designed to remain powered for a little while after ignition off. Stuff like lights, windows, etc. After X amount of time, the relays are switched off and those circuits go dead.

This may also be known as the battery saver function, even though the name is different. Nigel wrote the wiring diagrams and called them switched system relays. Reginald wrote the DTC definitions and called them battery savers. Can’t say for sure they are the same circuits but it seems plausible.

An over-current fault for one of those relays would indicate a problem with the magnetic coil, partially shorted and drawing too much power. It could also be a partial short to ground in the control circuit wiring. However, I think the relay itself is a more likely culprit.

You could look up the switched system relays in the wiring diagrams to find their location. Test each magnetic coil for amp draw and compare. Replace the highest one. Or just replace them all if not sure.
