Leaking power steering fluid

Leaking power steering fluid
I recently noticed noise when I turned the steering wheel and in general especially when starting the car up. I checked the PS fluid and found it to be very low.
I added about 1/2 quart but now the fluid is leaking out on my garage floor little by little each day. I have not put the car on the lift yet to see exactly where it is coming from. The noise is gone so I dont think it is the pump. Is there a common issue that causes a leak in R & P of the S type?
I have a 2000 4.0 with 130k miles. Thanks in advance.

RE: Leaking power steering fluid
Well....it could be: Pump seal, cracked hose (high side or low side) and or the rack has a leaking seal.
So without seeing it, were difficult to pinpoint.
The fix might be as simple as tightening the hose ends, or complicated as in replacing the rack and having to get an alignment. Or worse yet, the shady mechanic charging you for the hose, pump and rack when you only need an O-ring between the hose connection......
sorry
and good luck
