Default Let the car breathe

I was looking under my hood and wondering... how does my car breathe?

Near as I can tell... it's only air intake is full of twists and turns, then finally it is restricted to a small 2" or 3" port.

Has anyone attempted to increase or changed out their air intake?
Changed out their exhaust?

What was done?

What was the result?

I appologize if this topic has been covered in a prior thread (I did a search in s-type section and found nothing)

On a 2000 car you're not really starting from a good base line. I doubt anyone has posted about actual improvements. The 4.2 NA or STR are far better starting points. Even those cars breathe quite well (commonly people make it worse).

On most naturally aspirated, an intake and exhaust won't make nearly as much of a difference as people hope for. Again, generally speaking less than a 10whp increase is found. To be honest, most people tend to do those mods for the sound OR as supporting mods to other things on a list of upgrades.
