License Plate Lights out

Well guys I just walked in the door from having my car totally searched and tore apart because my 2002 Jaguar S type's license plate lights were out. When I got home I opened the trunk (which small button on back to open trunk suddenly stopped working) and when I slammed it the license plates kicked on... anyone had this problem or knows what might be happening?
Thanks Guys,
Chadd

First check that the holder is not bad as suggested above. If that does not work or is not your problem.
Then unplug and replug the bulbs. Work your way back along the wiring. Every connector should be pulled apart and replugged. I usually do it several times. It looks like there is some corrosion on a connector somewhere. If you want, get some contact cleaner spray from Radio Shack to use when plugging and unplugging stuff.
If it was my car I would change the bulbs took even if they are good. Remember your car is over 10 years old at this point.

I had the same issue. If you take the bulbs out you will see it is the lamp holder. It has gotten water in it and started to corrode. Don't waste time cleaning it since the holder is plastic and will crumble in your hand. I suggest new lens covers. They come with new gaskets to prevent it from happening again.

I got mine from Nalley Jaguar who offered a 15% forum discount and free shipping for orders over $25.00. Jaguar of Greenville, SC offers the same deal and can be reached @ 877-906-2117. I have used them and their prices are about the same plus they ship fast especially since they are only one state away
