Limp Mode - Bad Shifting - Loss of Power - Codes Pulled P0500 & P0121
Good afternoon Gents,
When I'm accelerating, up to around 2,500 RPMs to get on the highway it starts shifting funny and having a loss of power, then goes into LIMP Mode.
I pulled the engine codes from my scanner and its displaying:
P0500(86) - vehicle speed sensor - circuit malfunction
P0121 (00) - Throttle Position (TP) switch A/accelerator pedal position (APP) switch A - range/performance problem
I believe this is the part I need to remedy my 2008 Jaguar S Type:
05-08 Jaguar S-Type X204 - Accelerator Gas Pedal Sensor Assembly w/ Pad Part # 2R839F836A OEM
Any help/insight is greatly appreciated..
Sincerely,
PJ

You can always look up the codes in the jaguar workshop manual. This will guide you to the pin point tests needed to find the fault.

Once you have identified the component you need you can look up the part number for your car on the on-line official jaguar parts catalogue.
You will need your VIN number as well as what version of s-type you have.
Again here is a link:
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/
Going forward please add the details of your car including a partial vin number to your forum signature, this will assist us in helping you with any problems. See the first line in my signature below for an example.
