can we get a carfax on it, I would be highly interested in the repair history. perhaps we have it all wrong, and the STR is just like an early 90's civic and they should last forever? Actually this one looks really clean?!?!??!

I like how its a 4.0 instead of a 4.2. They also managed to forget to swirl the license plate in a picture or two. I would definitely check it out in person before bidding if I were interested.

It's probably done extra hwy miles, which are good for cars. I'd want to know if the autobox fluid has been changed and also the valley pipe (that infamous hose under the SC). It's a lot of car for the money.

For that price, who cares? If it runs, doesn't throw any codes, shows no leaks, how could you go wrong (unless a person needed a reliable daily driver)?

If I were near by I'd take a good look at it.

I don't see any major issues with high mile str's. There's so many xj's with high miles that run perfect. I personaly seen a 2004 xjr with over 200k that ran, drove, and looked like a 60k mile car. If its been treated well it can last a lot longer. On the other hand I seen a 2003 str with 130k that was the biggest pos I ever seen for 9k, but even that only needed a few things to run right.

Way too many miles for my taste, and Black-on-black. (Stopped liking black cars when I moved to Texas)

If I was looking, I'd only pay up to $4K for that car. If you end up having to do Trans. work or engine work withing a year of purchase, you might as well pay more for a lower mileage STR. With that kind of mileage, it is a crap shoot.
You may luck out, or purchase a lemon.

Pass!

Looks like the car is back up for sale! The exterior has really been kept up by pictures the interior could use a little work and it would look good as new.

I criticize my Jag a lot but I will say you really have to neglect the exterior and interior to mess them up. When I bought my Jag it had really bad water spots all over it, tip to end and every where in between. 3 hours of some careful care and the paint looks show room! The interior was already well cared for.

I have to agree about the quality of the paint and interior. My 2005 STR is approaching 100K miles and is in the best condition of any car I have ever owned. And all my cars are kept up to the best of my ability.

Really like how no rattles or squeaks have shown up. I have a small rattle/squeak in the rear seat but that was there when I got the car at 32K and the dealer was unable to fix it. If someone sits in the back seat it makes no noise at all.
