Question looking to buy an S-Type, is this a good one? 01 1jz swapped S Type

2001 Jaguar S type 1JZGTE swapped only one in the world! trade?

I'm looking to get an S-Type, saw this 1JZ swapped one going for 3 grand, and it seems like a good deal. I heard it was for sale a while back for over twice the current asking price, should I get this, or get an STR instead?

If you're also in Orlando, please don't steal this from me

Don't get that one. Get one that's not been messed with.

An STR would be far far better.

Oh, ya, stay far, far, away. Nothing is going to work right on that car.

There may be a reason it's the only one in the world.

That car has 390 to the wheels while an STR has 390 to the crank. Also the cheapest STR is twice the costwhat that 1jz power jag is asking. But if y I u guys think I should stay away so iverwhelmingky, who am I to disagree.

I very much doubt that car has the HP you say and for sure it won't have the uprated suspension, brakes, stiffer body, etc the STR has. Plus... how are you ever going to maintain it? There will be no help here because it's unique. Every fault will be a nightmare.

It depends what you want, if you want a reliable car for regular everyday use I'd avoid it if you want a toy / project to tinker with and lavish your hard earned on it might be worth a look.

I think you should snap it up... quick-like! Before someone on the forum "steals" it from you...

That car is a PILE OF JUNK. PERIOD. It doesn't even run. If you will look at the next car on the list, a red X type AWD with 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual, you might come out better. The red X type only has 48,000 miles on it and it RUNS FINE.

Ah ha this mystical S Type finally rears its ugly head. Many, many, maannnyyy moons ago, someone had mentioned that they had heard from a friend of a friend that someone was able to accomplish the unaccomplished and dropped a Toyota Turbo motor into an S Type. We all were very skeptical, especially since there were not any photos of this beast (at the time). I am not in the mood to search out the old thread, but its here somewhere in the back of the archive cave.

From the CL listing, I would not touch this $3,000.00 boat anchor even with Jons buddy Danielsatur's money..... (Sorry Jon)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I just noticed from the ad the the rear plate is from Mississippi. The CL ad is from Orlando, it might mean nothing, but my hunch is this guy was suckered into this $150.00 parts car and wasn't able to get it up and running correctly. :P

These guys are in Orlando and say they built it in 2013

MT Fabrication added 3 new photos to the album: 1JZ Jaguar S Type Single Turbo Conversion.

Zachary Alami Could you do that to an X-Type? there comparable cars, like the S-Type to the X-Type is like a BMW M5 to a M3.
