I will be looking for a car at the end of august, and just thought I would throw out the question, as these are the two cars I will be looking at. A B5 stage 3 audi s4, or a STR. Any opinion is greatly appreciated.

 

I'm familiar with the cars you listed. The STR is the sexiest, more powerful (the boost from the super charger is a thriller), nicer ride, and most fun to drive.

 

The S6 is closer in size, I think. Both Audis are dull, boring boxes, though.

If you want a more powerful (but still dull in looks) car, try the RS6.

 

With a few bolt on mods i.e. exhaust, air filter, smaller super charger pulley, low temp thermostat, and an ECU tune...you now have a 450+ hp "Whip just about all Audi's" STR.

Thanks guys not quite ready to buy yet though, and as far as audis being boring, I would only be getting a stage 3 s4, which is pushing 400-450 hp, so I hardly think it would be boring. I'll have to look at a str as a possibility now, as I thought they were just out of my price range. After looking though they're about the same as the s4s I was looking at. I think driving both would do a lot in deciding which to go with.

 

Us Americans aren't allowed to have that.....

In fact the only RS Audis we ever got were the 03 RS6 and the RS4 in 07 and 08...
