Hello
wife was driving when she got restricted Performance light
When I scanned vehicle I got the following codes
but first I need to say my old scanner did not pick up code
P1647 pre cat 02 sensor
I then tried my new i carsoft CR PRO
and got the following codes
P1647 pre cat sensor bank 2
P0300 random misfire
P0302 MISFIRE CYLINDER 2
This is what i have done
replacereplaced 4 02 sensors purchased from jaguar new Zealand $ 3.5 k
8 new coils $ 1k
8 new ngk iridium spark plugs $450.00
8 new fuel injectors $ 1k
Maf sensor $300
I did a comparison test all cylinders 10.6psi
all plugs removed throttle body open
Leak down test was great all cylinders held pressure
engine has only done 8 k since rebuild
Bank i is fine plugs are perfect
Bank 2 is a nightmare
Now getting
P0300 random misfire
P0302 MISFIRE CYLINDER 2
P0304 misfire cylinders 4
P0306 misfire cylinders 6
P0308 misfire cylinders 8
All Bank 2 plugs are Black and stooy
I have had a friend who is a auto Electrician
test wiring for coils injectors all working great
I have swapped 02 sensors around coils and plugs made know Difference
so the only thing I think left now is a bad catalytic converter on bank 2
I know they say if you can smell rotten egg or Sulphur smell you could have a bad catalytic converter
my problem is with years of using industrial Solvents
I have no sense of smell anymore
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanking you

The smell is not a good test unless you have high sulphur content petrol (probably not) and not great even if you have.
You can use a borescope (USB camera) to look in the cat e.g. remove O2 sensor.
And/or measure temperature front & rear of each side's cat - should be similar.
And/or measure exhaust (tail pipe) gas.
A cat can fail but they tend not to unless abused (bad AFR e.g. due to failed O2 not changed or such).

Thanks
Did some temp tests
engine at 2500 rpm
Bank 1 =416f front 02 sensor
517f back of cat
Bank 2 = 590f front 02 sensor
615f back of cat
Engine idle after 1 hour cool down
Bank 1 = 319f front 02 sensor
266f back of cat
Bank 2 = 348f front of 02 sensor
309 back of cat
Bank 2 catalytic converter looks stuffed
Thanking you

I think he means to physically remove the O2 sensor and let it hang by the wires. Then drive a bit to see what changes. We are trying to remove any restriction caused by the blocked cat. With the open port from the O2 the exhaust now has another path to flow.
Cheap and quick way to check for plugged cats.
