I'm going to be picking up my 03' S-Type tomorrow at the dealer I purchased it from. I would've already picked it up yesterday if it wasn't for an issue with the compass rear view mirror. The compass mirror was lying on the floor when I took the car for a test drive but they told me it was no problem and they just had to reinstall it on the windshield. But apparently it wasn't that easy because there was some kind of clip piece that attaches the mirror to the windshield that was missing and they said they couldn't get the piece from the dealer so instead they would have to order a whole new mirror. So they gave me the option to split the price of a whole new compass rear view mirror or for no extra money they would just install a plain rear view mirror without the compass. So I was just wondering if the compass mirror has any other features like auto dimming or anything else besides the compass? The dealer told me that the only difference is the compass feature which tells you which direction you're heading but I was wondering if it has any other features aside from that? I'm going to be picking the car up with the plain non compass mirror tomorrow but I'm debating whether buy an aftermarket rear view mirror that has the auto dimming and compass features because I found one for $190 by Gentex on this website, http://www.autoanything.com/mirrors/60A2087A0A0.aspx
But if its only a compass I will be missing then I might not bother spending the money on it, so lemme know, thanks!
