Default Looking for Opinions. please help !

Hi Guys. I just purchased a 2005 S Type V8 4.2L. Gray with light gray interior. I bought it from a used car dealer 2 weeks ago and I'm already having an issue. Yesterday the car started stuttering then the check engine light came on with "Restricted Performance"

I study'd this forum for over 2 hours on what that means but I guess what my question is:

Should I file a Lemon Law suit and just return it? I have 60 days by law. As we speak it is back at the dealer getting fix. Fix #1.

I am not a mechanic at all and always loved Jags.

What should I do?

Thanks guys.

Sergio

Hi there and welcome to the Forum!

I would just give the dealer a chance to make it right. Jags have a "personality" and do require some upkeep. What you have described is a fairly common occurrence and can be attributed to many things - coil packs, bad MAF vacuum leak etc.

We wouldn't be able to diagnose without the codes, but I say take a deep breath and give the dealer a chance to correct the problem.

As a side note, start a savings account now for future repairs and of course performance mods!

Well if you did study the forum you would know the very first thing to do is get the codes read so we can start figuring out what the problem is.

But see if the dealer will fix it first. That would be best. Any warranty from the dealer?
