Default Loss of theater lighting ...

I was messing around with the interior lighting of the Jag specifically the over head console, as one of the lights is blown. I opened it up, very carefully and when I put it back togethernone of the interior lights will funtion. All the dashlights, front & back blinkers, trunk light, it's just the lights that they work. I checked all the fuses in the engine bay, anyone have any other suggestions. Here is pic of what I'm talking about, thanks guys.Name: Picture063.jpg

It looks like one of the leads or copper prongs on the upper left side is bent. It probably is not going into the mating socket to supply power to the lights. It is straight to the left of the mounting bolt in the picture. The other 3 are sticking straight up.

I took apart again a second time, making sure that everything was lined up. I did have to straighten one of the prongs and made sure that everything was lined before Iput it back together. I don't understand how this would affect the lights, that are located on the bottom door panels and in the rear that turn on, when you open or close a door?

Did it work after you re-fitted it?

Probably because they are all on the same circuit to turn on when the doors open and one break and none of them work! It's like Christmas lights!!!

That makes alot of sense, but first I will re-check every fuse, once there issome day light.
If that comes up empty, then I guess I will have to triple check the over head console. Is it is kind of tricky putting it back in.

The 2 side bulbs look a little crooked too. Maybe one is not making full contact.

I want to change my interior lights to LED's. I already did my rear lights, but how do you remove that housing for the front overhead console? I have no Idea and I dont want to break anything. I know that those 2 bulbs on the left and right are 2825, but what type is that middle bulb and is there an LED for that?

Where did you get your LEDS from? I actually measured the dome light and it came out to exactly 4 cm. Per Osrma Sylvania’s website it has the dome light listed as part # 6411. It also has the parking light with part # 2825 and I was able to use 194 LEDS, that I picked up at Kragens. I also used a different LEDS in my headlights turn signals, than what Osram Sylvania’s website had listed.

Have you checked out this website? They have some of the best and brightest LEDS. http://www.oznium.com/led-dome

These are my Kragens LEDS. What do you think? I eventually would like to convert to all LEDs lighting.

I know this is an old post, but momo, what is the size of that turn signal LED? and

jagtech - whats the best way to remove that housing, I have the LEDs I need for my dome, but I dont want to break it.

here is an update, I was able to start pulling out part of the console, starting with the glasses holder, I also removed a black screw from the glasses holder as well. From there I am stumped. I keep pulling down and nothing will budge. I fear that using excess force will break something, and I do not want break it with the moonroof button there or the lighting.

You just need to work your way around from the back to the front and keep pulling.

ok, ill try, but do I need to fear braking the housing? If I do break it, is it a cheap fix?
