Lug nuts...

That's exactly what I thought I was seeing as I tightened the "wrong" set of lug nuts. I have ordered the Gorilla lugs (GOR-73138J) from Summit Racing, and will certainly fit them when they arrive, but... one more time... am I at serious risk right now?

I think you're not - but I'd avoid extremes of driving like very hard braking and race track.
Seems to me the wheel rim sits over the protruding hub and the wrong nuts (if torqued reasonably tight) might allow the rim to rotate about the axle a tiny bit or even shift a tiny bit to one side or the other at right angles to the axle, but constrained by the hub protrusion. These feel to me like very small distances - if it actually managed to shift.
Beyond getting proper nuts ASAP I don't think I'd panic.

If I were you, I'd be concerned about the amount of thread engagement you have. I would think that the taper of the lug, is contacting the outer edge of the lug holes, after just a turn or two of the lug nuts. That's not really enough to get good engagement. I'd be really careful, until the new nuts arrive, although if you've been driving that way for several years, you should be good for another 10-12 days.
(I say 10-12 days, because Summit doesn't stock the Gorilla lugs, and they're directly shipped from Gorilla, and the paperwork takes a couple of days to process. Secondly, I'm on the eastern side of the US and Gorilla is in California....)

I fixed your link.
The same vendor lists these nuts
Amazon.com: DPAccessories LCM3C6HCOCH04020 20 Premium Chrome Mag Seat Lug Nuts for Factory/OEM Aluminum Wheels (M12x1.5): Automotive
which DO fit an S-type, contrary to the Amazon info.
Compare the two side by side to see the difference in profile.

I ordered on 3/18 and they are on the car today. Thank you for your assistance. I did measure them and the only difference was the shaft that goes through the wheel was 1mm longer. They worked perfectly. Only $31 delivered. The nut is a 13/16 or 21mm size. A little larger, but ONE PIECE.

Since there are a few lug nut threads, I didn't want to create another one so that's why I'm posting here. Just wanted to make a "Public Service Announcement".
Make sure you change your lug nuts ASAP. I read the threads and thought to myself, "Oh, I'll take care of it soon." Well, "soon" came up, and when I took it into the shop to have them changed, I guess it was too late. Here are the pics:

That is exactly what happened to me. It is caused by an idiot with a too powerful air wrench or a breaker bar. To get it off, the welder sprayed the area with a flame retardant and then welded a new nut on top of the broken lug. Then he poured water on it to cool it and the lug came off. Cost was $120 for that 10 minutes. I've sworn to GAWD to never go to another Firestone store.

I took off the car were rusty and the acorn shape without any washer. I was
nervous about replacing them myself not knowing how heavy they were
torqued. No problems at all other then when I torqued the newer ones on
they seemed grab more thread then old ones. Made sure I cleaned all the
threads before putting on the new.

I have to thank Mickey for finding the correct lugs. I used PB Blaster on mine to loosen them and let it sit before I took them off the first time. After Firestone broke off the lug, I wouldn't let them touch the others. (Wonder why?)
A note about PB Blaster. It is the nastiest smelling stuff ever made. It won't wash out of a rag, and works better than WD. Use it outside and save your nose

I used WD-40 on them all. Was an easy job since they all came loose pretty easy. I
never used my impact tools on lug nuts. Have 3 vehicles and do it by hand on them all.
It sure makes a difference. Even when I get new tires for any of them, I re-torque all
the lugs. Mostly having to loosen them up and do it right.

Gorilla nuts is what I used back in 2010 or 2011? when they didn't have a direct part number so I have a socket, extension and el cheapo torque wrench in my truck for 90lbs. That's much better than the OEM tool anyway. I've only subjected this car to one winter of use part time and they do have a bit of rust on some of the sharp edges. Not terrible though. About what I'd expect for plated nuts.
Something odd about Gorilla nuts on a Jaguar though ...
(repeat for some)
