Default Lugnuts on an '07 s type

anyone else had trouble with the lugnuts on s type? i have tin caps that fit over the lugnuts and had to remove the rim a few weeks ago for a flat and one of them stripped off and the tire wrench that came with the car doesnt fit the lug under the cap...was wondering if anyone had to replace the lugnuts on their car and what the cost might be? FYI just wanted to let you know about this in case you get on an interstate and have a flat and this happens.

yeah i had the same problem on my 2003...dealer wants like $20 EACH!! and even if u buy replacements for the ones that stripped you run the risk of future stripping..so here's my solution: go on ebay and buy the ACORN style lug nuts all (20 for like 20 bucks with shipping)..they look just like the originals without that stupid 2peice design(btw ill post a link in a bit because ebay motors is down at the moment) this is what i did and it worked GREAT!! Good luck

MDJag, you can also try LA Wheel & Tire. They have solid one piece chrome with washers (exact replica for my X-Type OEM) without the annoying cover. I've had mine for three years and still look shiny and new. I think I paid about $100 for 20.

Default nuts

i went to pep boys found aftermarkets one which included the washers, and the factory wrench fits them. for 5.99 plus tax for five. so i replaced all twenty of them. dealer wants 26.99 for 1 and they told me to buy extras cause the oem nuts are soft and have a tendency to strip flat inside... good luck

Careful buying aftermarket lug nuts. The ones referenced above are 12 x 1.5mm. The '97 to '06 XK*s used 1/2" x 20, 1.25 pitch. Can't speak to the other models. The metric ones almost fit.
