Default MAF Sensor Question P0101

Hello All: I have a question about a MAF sensor for a 2005 S-Type Sport. I've replaced it twice and still get the code P0101. I've also replaced the pigtail and inspected the intake tubing for leaks but did not find any. I also have installed a new Jaguar (dealer) air filter. Both MAF sensors that I've used are from AutoZone. I'm a little skeptical about this part since it's remanufactured. I'm also a little hesitant to get one from the Jag dealer since they are 3 times the price and I'm not sure if the sensor is really the problem. I have the JTIS and I have checked the power and ground to the sensor and resistance of the sensor and it seems ok. I also have a scanner and can view the MAF value. I think it is a little low but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what it's supposed to be at idle? Mine is .6 LB/M at idle.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

See below and also get proper Jaguar codes PDF (stickies or JTIS) as it's free and says what else to check. I'd buy a MAF from a wrecker if I wanted one but do see that PDF...

I've done the checks on the MAF sensor and everything seems within spec. I've also taken the recommendation of JagV8 and replaced the MAF with one from a wrecker. The P0101 code still comes back. I'm wondering if it's a problem with the throttle body. JTIS says to check these items:

MAF sensor, MAF sensor circuit(s), Blocked air filter, Air intake leak, Engine breather leak, Throttle control malfunction.

I don't think there is a problem with anything MAF related but maybe there is a throttle control malfunction. I believe the P0101 code registers when I'm coming to a stop. Can anyone tell me how to check for throttle control malfunction? I don't get any other codes and the car seems to run fine.

Thanks,

Has anyone repaired this code by something other than MAF replacement?

Well, Search basically shows almost no-one's had this

But yes, it has been fixed by changing the TB (throttle body). Very expensive part so you either want a cheap used one or to do it last of all.

I suppose you could try checking wiring right back to the PCM, but that's a pain to do, too
