Magnaflow Cat & X-Pipe Set-up

Nice ideas for exhaust configurations. Mods, including a free-flowing 2.5" exhaust, has only increased the hp and trq. of my 03 STR. Compared to stock, she'll easily walk the old STR she once was. Though I hope to track test her...feels like a 4.7 sec. 0-60 with a 12.7 1/4. Pop on a K&N a/f., Mafioso air intake tube, low temp. thermo., hi-flow cats, 3 lb. pulley, port/polish the blower, and free up the exhaust (est. 475+ hp)....
I ran a 400rwhp cobra that had a 450-600lbs weight advantage and we were close to even motor for motor. I ran my buddies full bolt on and camed C6 vett with a huge advantage in weight and power and from 40-120ish he can only pull about a half a car on me mainly from 80 up due to areo (running agian with the spray i should have him). That dose not make much sense for a car that only has 370ish rwhp and weighs as much as we do? It is not like we have bullet like aerodynamics either?

qwikcat, when I dynoed last spring the rear tires must have fought the rollers too. The smell of burning rubber, flashing DSC and eventual ABS light gave away that despite turning off DSC, the STR's ABS never entirely disengages. This's the likely culprit behind near factory dyno results following mods. Wonder if disabling ABS during pulls will allow us to measure full rwhp? On the street my STR feels like 400 hp at the wheels, definitely much quicker from the get-go through the 1/4. Nailing her at 90 mph brings 130 mph in just a matter of seconds, and she still wants to pull hard...almost frightening power from soup to nuts. Try disabling ABS while dynoing?

I am starting to wonder if these cars just dyno low? Every time mine has been on the dyno it smells like the breaks are trying to control tire spin, after one pull the ABS light is on (not uncommon with modern cars) and after about five pulls I can not get the trans to cooperate any longer to make more runs.

Never been on that site but I will once I get some decent slips this time out. My trap was low on my 12.89 from the 60' times, by the time I figured the car out it was pretty hot and I have a lot more power now. With spray I hope to get it in the high 11s. I know it makes the power from the recent cars I have run, getting it to launch and 1/8 mile well is a whole different story!

If wonderful laughing gas isn't your cup of tea, you could always get a 90lb mistress and let her drive the car...

would you mind taking a video of your exhaust and uploading it to youtube? could be a good thing for other members to listen to.

As my signature states, I don't have an exhaust, just high flow cats which hardly change the sound of the car; just a little more throaty at lower RPMS...I didn't notice any difference at WOT within the cabin...
