Mann Air filter doesn't filt

I just purchased a Mann C3270 Air Filter for my R from Rockauto and the dang thing is too long! The Mann catalog shows its length at 312mm (which is how long it actually is), and the WIX filter for our application is 11.8in long (about 300mm). So, the Mann is about 12mm too long for our application, which I can personally attest to after trying to place it in the airbox.
Just an FYI, carry on.

this is the big issue with aftermarket filters. For some odd reason the Stype seems to be the only Jag plagued by this I see. I cannot tell you how many times I look at air filters in Stype and theyre too long or too small and laying in the box. Whats worse is I really cannot believe the number of f&%^&$ idiot mechanics at lube shops, and other shops that just stick em in and know they dont fit right. You might as well take out the filter and throw it away for all the good it does....does not anyone care about quality of work anymore

Howdy Folks!!... ![Icon Banana](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_banana.gif)
I had a similar experience awhile back. But with me Wixx was the culprit. I probably spent 45 minutes tap dancing around that airbox, trying to make that bloody filter to fit. Finally I tore off the clamps, tube, and sensor so that I could remove the airbox top. I found that my Wixx filter was just over an 1/8th of an inch to long.
. I took both filters back and showed them my problem. They changed the Wixx for another that was the same size as my old used filter at no extra charge.
So I share your pain (and sore back)...
