Thanks - I'm an AMGer for life, but I have to say after coming here to give benz2jag2doublewide some guff I could be convinced to consider the jags. You all have some nice cars.
I'm trying to find the original thread he posted over on MBWorld, but it was something like "I got my *** handed to me in my AMG by a Jag so now I'm buying one." which of course started civil enough like "there's always a faster car, etc..." and ended up with us just shaking our heads. In any case, as a child of the 80's I'm not a fan of the newer Jags, but I have great respect for their styling and heritage and I can tell by your responses this is a kindred group.
All cars have a 'headlight' problem or in the case of my AMG its seats, headlights, electrical, seats again, sway bar bushings, s/c clutch bearing, intercooler pump (the list goes on) but we don't have these cars because they are reliable - we have them for those inneffible, more emotional reasons which is why benz2jag2hondawithawing's logic is just plain 'un-car-guy-like'.
The winter-beater, the DD, the kid's ride - yeah, get rid of it because the headlight's suck but Your Car? It would have to somehow cheat on you to just abandon it, no?

Ok I was gonna be all defensive but decided to be more partial instead...the member you have by the screen name benz2jag is a joke and you can't seriously let him make you guys feel so defensive that you start bashing all cars he associates with...be a smarter person and just don't pay this joker no mind...this kind of crap get forums to start wars against eachother both cars have their attributes and both cars are not amongs the everyone has one crowd...there are people who are very loyal to the makes they drive but this joker doesn't seem to make up his mind....please I only read the first thread page so I have no idea to the extent things have gone...god bless you all.

Welcome all from the mb forum. There is no beaf with us and he isn't starting crap here nor will he ever. He certainly isn't making me hate mercedes or any other. We all love our cars for whatever reason we love them, and we can't change that. As some other guys stated with all the features the "elite/luxurious" cars we drive have problems are expected on all of them. Each car is different and every forum gets idiots stating that my ford mustang cobra is faster than your ford f250 pickup. There is no correlation between the 2 vehicles and all other parties not associated with the moron that would make that statement would just dismiss it and laugh. Anyways no hard feelings coming from any of us...I am curious though who he is bothering now? He's been banned from here, bmw and I'm sure mb forums...who's next? I would really love to meet the guy in person and figure out why he's so crazy!??? I bet he's in a psych ward right now and has been this whole entire time!

I went back and read his posts. Actually if you did not take him serious he was damn amusing. I was lol with some of his comments. My wifes Benz is not perfect but its a darn good vehicle. I look at it this way, if you own a car that never breaks down on the road (except tires)and you drive your car home or to a garage and not have to get towedyou have got a reliable vehilce

I think it's great we got a couple MB forumers dropping by, no matter what issue brought them over here. You guys are always welcome to come over anytime. Hey, to make it forum-worthy, how about parking your shiny german auto next to a new XF or other jag that catches your eye and post it...like this

Like you guys, we all love our cars with all their faults to. There's just sumthin about them.
Gotta say I love the Mercs and the Bm's. My bro in law has the C class convertible and before that the M3......both great cars in their own right.
