Default Memory Seat:

Ok so granted I'm new to the STR, I seem to be having a problem with the driver memory seat function. I get the steering wheel, mirrors, and seat all set to exactly how I like it. Hit the memory button then press 1. Drive the car for 20 minutes or 3 hours. Shut the car off, the seat goes back and steering wheel raise up and out of the way so you can get out of the car. Get back in, start the car, the seat doesn't return to my desired setting unless I manually press the 1. Is this normal? I feel as though I shouldn't have to press this each and every time I get in the car.

You need to program the key to position 1. I think the procedure is as follows:

1. press the position 1 button to get everything where you want it.
2. press the memory button so the red light illuminates
3. press and hold the unlock button on your keyfob
4. press position 1
5. release all buttons

The red light should go out and the message center may say memory position 1 saved, or something like that. To check, move the seat off the memory positions and exit the car. Unlock the car using the keyfob. All positions should go to memory 1 now.

In your hand. The system is powered up with the key out.

You should get the owners manual if you don't have one. All of that is in there.
