quartz, what made you go to the str after the e38? I really want to drop something to the ground while I'm young because I know I will never do it again :P. I have even been thinking that if I keep the xtype I could get a project e38 for $1500 with a cracked radiator (really good deal) and then drop it to the ground. Sure, it would be impractical, but for 3k, it would be a hell of a lot of fun! I still like the str though... I just wish I was Jay Leno he has such an incredible car collection.

The e38 ended up being totaled by another driver. I went through a BMW e30 M3 (sold) and then a Mercedes W210 E430 (again totaled by someone else) before winding up with my STR. After looking at a bunch of cars, it was in the best shape for the right price so I bought it. If you are looking for a car to "stance out" then I'm not too sure an STR would be the best choice. There aren't really any inexpensive kits that would allow you to lower the car "to the ground." The only kits I've seen for coilovers are ~$3k. My car is on H&R springs which give it a nice look but I'm able to retain practicality as well (I don't have any pictures of it yet since I've lowered it). If you ever want to take a look, I live in Aurora if you are in that neck of the woods some time before you move.

I might have to take you up on that and take a look at it on h&r's. The whole reason that I originally bought a jaguar is that it isn't another subaru or audi which are basically the only other cars with awd I was looking at. I would love to stance something out and just have an incredibly impractical car until I get sick of it, but if I get an str, I would not lower it to the ground. I like the str the way they are, but I could snag an e38 for about $1500 and get it running perfectly for around 2k which is really the only reason I'm looking at it. I'm just glad that str's actually exist at that ridiculous of a price. Thanks everyone for all your help!
