Go blue interesting to see how you have fitted your MAF, I and all pictures I hav seen the MAF is upright, you have put your in at an angle, do you do this for a reason? Tomorrows project is refit the Mina with some Spectre couplings, do hard reset and run and get figures. If AVOS comes back with not positive news or I get codes and bad figures tomorrow, hen its back to complete stock inc paper filter, get what ever faults fixed then decide whether Ronnie will stay. I wanted Ronnie to play with if I have problems with even Bolt on tuning then going deeper will be a nightmare. BFsgross Vaccum/air leak not helpful if you do not give me some ideas on where to look.

Just got back from putting ~ 20 miles on the STR zipping around the beltway... the pronounced supercharger whine is intoxicating. Wow!

Robert, I was concerned with hood clearance, thus the reason for installing the MAF at an angle. Hope you're able to get yours sorted out tomorrow.

Well I think I have put about 400 miles or so on the intake and I have gotten absolutely no codes. I did this in conjunction with installing my new HID bulbs, so I had to unplug the batter, but didn't do a hard reset. I did have to change the coupling in the kit from a 3.5 to a 3.0, as well as new clamps that are 3.0's. It definitely took some work to angle the intake inside the heat shield correctly, but after about an hour, the install was complete. My only complaint is that the intake is hitting the body, even after I spent a half hour playing with the geometry. I think I will have to place rubber grommet on where its hitting to prevent anymore noise when going over bumps.

Overall, I am really excited about the intake. The blower whine is insane coupled with the Qwiketz intake elbow. With the windows down, I can hear the engine sucking air above 1500 rpm and hear blower whine at 2500rpm. The throttle response is definitely increased and so good, I have to be careful when downshifting to pass as to not slingshot too far ahead. I would say its a 10rwhp increase from all RPM's.

Update on my code problems, the Mina is not the issue as far as I know as in coincidence at the same time as fitting the Mina it seems my Adaptive Cruise Control Module went Faulty and is posting Restricted Performance, so now I am screwed as I will not pay $6000+ for repairs. So Mina not the problem.

So what are you going to do?

If you disable your Adaptive Cruise Control, will the car stop going into Restricted Performance mode?

Hi Jon, no clue from what I am being told because the adaptive cruise talks to the Transmission and ECU and throttle you cannot take it out of the loop as the car will then go into limp home, I am hoping someone comes up with something as if the only way to correct is replacement then that is not going to happen as this repair will be 50% of the cars value. Can't believe that one box that I don't ever use could cause so much havoc. Anyone buying a Jag please avoid Adaptive Cruise, my wife's XK has it as well at least she has a warranty.

Sorry to hear that. Can you source a used module?

I did not want Adaptive Cruise on either of our Jaguars due to the complexity and expense to repair. So glad that neither one has it....

Jon, found a brand new ACC unit in the UK for $700 still in its box! Thanks to member Brizzy. Luckily a Jaguar repair agent in the North of England was clearing its shelf of unused parts lucky for me, I think the only reason I got it is that they would not sell to the USA so my relatives in the UK bought it and I will pick it up from them when I am back there soon. Still can't work out why I can't just turn the ACC off as this feature is causing Restricted performance and possible Limp home even though I don't use Cruise and have the front alert switched off, the ACC is always in the Can loop. Can't get my head around it.

CAN is not a loop. I don't understand why you can't just unplug it and worst case have the dealer use IDS/SDD to flag it as a non-ACC car (as most are). My guess is that you could do that.

Hi Forum, as some of you already know, I ordered a pair of Magnaflow 59975 Hi flow cats to replace my broken stock cats. Since I was doing that, I went ahead and got the Magnaflow 11385 internal X pipe thingy. Since this stuff is arriving tomorrow, so I called Chris at Mina Galleries and he's shipping my Mina intake 2 day air, so that should arrive Friday...while my STR's exhaust is being worked on. Hopefully, I can just run it over and have them install it. If not, I'll get it done Saturday. If all goes well, I plan to take her out for a quick road trip, maybe 100 to 200 miles away..Just to give her some highway time and see if my "butt dyno" can tell the difference. I'll keep you guys posted.. Also, quick mention. Chris over at Mina is a very nice, customer friendly guy. He had no problem seeing to it that I get my intake on Friday as I requested. Furthermore, when I told him I was thinking about getting the exhaust system as well, he quoted me a great deal and stated he would honor it even if I decided to do it at a later date. What more can you ask for. He made a permanent customer today and if any of you guys are looking for mods, I would recommend checking them out first. Oh, I should be ordering the Caldoofy elbow probably next week. Let the fun begin!!!ttyl

Hi Forum, got everything installed yesterday and took a nice 200 mile drive today testing out the new mods...One word..WOW!!! I can really feel the difference. Not only when taking off from a standstill, but accelerating from mid range RPM's is noticibly quicker. She really just takes off. I'm hooked now..LOL. I'm going to order the Caldoofy elbow next week, and within the next 30 days, I'll do the Mina exhaust and pulley upgrade. I think that might give me 450 or more hp. I must have gained 15 to 20 with the Mina intake, Magnaflow 59975 Cats and 11385. At least thats what my "butt dyno" is telling me. At any rate I couldnt be happier with the bang I got for the buck. Very much well worth it!!!

The pulley is the best upgrade out there IMO. It really boosts (pun sorta intended) the low-end power and really helps out through the whole rpm range.

That's going to be my next step. Should I do the exhaust at the same time or can I do the pulley, then the exhaust a little later? Also, I noticed you're using a Euro toys pulley...Are they pretty much the same as Mina Galleries, 1.5 lbs boost or are there major differences?

The Mina Gallery 1.5# is aluminum, the Eurotoys 3# is steel. Some say the aluminum material is lighter and better, but I think that is more conjecture than anything else. The 3# (or 2.6#) gives more boost, but the trade-off is that it produces more heat and it is more difficult to install. The 3# will yield better dyno results throughout the power band, but peak horsepower will not be too much different. I've had my 3# installed for over a year and I drive my car hard with a lot of trips to the drag strip and it has held up great. I've installed my mods one at a time and it doesn't matter what order you do them in.
