Default mina intake lower power

There was a thread a while back showing how much of a power loss there was when running open element filters. And a member (1320) I think said his car was a lot slower with an open element filter. Is the mina intake completely sealed off? I haven't seen any dyno numbers with this intake. Which would be nice before I buy it or source out an OEM air box

I've been running Mina Gallery intake for few weeks. After having few issues with Maf sensor adapter tube its running great. I love the sound and throttle response. It seems to be adequately shielded from the heat. I haven't noticed any heat soak any sooner than before.mina intake lower power-img_0303.jpg

Quick Easter response, 400 or so miles and no codes, huge throttle response and at least a 10rwhp gain accirding to the butt dyno. More info later, just have to fix how the filter is hitting the wheel well/body ugh.

Nice custom intake, I like how you had a custom block machined, drilled and welded to the pipe and bolt the MAF sensor in that, although I don't know if it was worth the effort messing with the MAF in that way, it sure looks good and I appreciate the detail and effort, good stuff,

Thanks, man. I actually didn't do any of the welding or drilling. I simply purchased another pipe with the MAF sensor plate already attached to it. Got it from Autozone, from the cheap Spectre brand build-your own intake shelf. I was desperate.

I struggled with P1071 and P1074 for like 3 weeks after I installed Mina intake. I tried different T-bolt clamps but they were actually bending the aluminum pipe. I used different couplings. I even bought and returned brand new MAF sensor. Couldn't find the leak. Did hard ECU reset. Almost gave up. Used gasket maker around MAF senor plate and still didn't work. Every time I would put back stock air box everything would back to normal. So I figured the leak had to be where the MAF sensor would sit inside the tube. So now after a month of driving everything is good and the car now sounds like 2003-2004 Kenne Bell Cobra's little brother when the supercharger whine kicks in.

Been having the same problems with codes especially bank 1 lean. Chris at Mina sent me a new MAF housing that was all metal and drove 50 miles today at standstill to 90MPH so far no Codes lets see what the next few days brings, Chris is great but modding Jags drives you nuts. Good to see you sorted things out.

Standing alone or with other mods, the Mina intake does a good job.
