Hi, I am posting on here because you STR guys mod the SC cars more than the XJR owners. My question is how difficult will it be for my Indy Mech to line up the pulley for the belt to run correctly? I read you have to heat the pulley for instal after cutting off the old one and it may be a one shot deal. Can anyone who has fitted the 1.5 lb pulley from Mina point out any hints or tips. Already have the intake pipes available on here and I am ordering the Mina intake and SC pulley package.also should I fit a Gator belt or stick with a late model OE Belt.

Hi Robert. After cutting off the stock steel pulley, the aluminum Mina pulley is a cinch to just fit on at the beginning of the shaft, then screwing on the bolt to chase it to where it belongs on the shaft. It's the Eurotoys, etc. steel pulleys where this can become tricky, sometimes requiring heat to expand the pulley enough to slip into proper position. Welcome to STR land. Get the Mina intake and Caldoofy intake tube for an easy and inexpensive 24 rwhp gain. Your 1.7 pulley will add another 15 chp and move the already formidable low end torque further down the rpm scale.

 

Thanks Bfs, I am already running a Qwin elbow purchased off of here, that was fun when I first heard it. It seems that over on the XJ forum it's a bit frond upon to mod our XJR's which is a shame because that are bad *** cars. My XJR already can give standard 5.0 mustangs a run for here money! Could not stay with the Boss 302 the other day though. Gave him a fright from the lights though and he did have a smile on his face and gave a thumbs up when he caught me, think he thought the Prince Charles wagon was going to be a barge.
