YES, AND THAT USUALLY CREATES A SUCKING HOLLOW SOUND. LIKE...WELL NO SARCASM TODAY
YOU WILL HAVE REALLY ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE AND P0171, P0174 FOR LEAN ENGINE
AH I LIKE THESE NEW SMILEYS ONCE I CHANGED MY SETTING AND CAN NOW SEE THEM....WATCH OUT

Brutal, thanks for that information on the codes thrown when the PCV elbows go bad. I'll add that to my list of things to check when we're in there....

Rick, no problem my friend. I just scratch my head and wonder who this "daniel" guy is every time he posts....

Hi Jeff,

Frog-gigging is nailing frogs with a small pitch-fork, or so I'm told. Then if you're so inclined cook up a bunch of frog-legs. Supposedly they taste like chicken. I would just as soon go to the local market and buy chicken since I'm basically lazy.

Hi Brutal,

It looks like a McLaren M8D Can-Am car. I think it suits you. About 500ci and about 800 bhp. I saw these a Laguna Seca in the early 70's and were totally cool.

Update:

At the risk of jinxing our S-Type, we've had it back from the dealership service department for a week now, we've put a couple hundred miles on it in typical around-town driving, and no additional misfire codes have been thrown yet. I wonder if the new air filter housing, air filter element, and mass air flow sensor have made any difference. I'd like to think so but I'm still guessing that we'll wind up having to replace those two Intake Manifold Tuner O-rings at some point down the road....

Next Tuesday I plan to take it on a trip to the Asheville area. That little trek will be at least 500 miles round-trip and will be the first time the car has been more than 100 miles from home since before the August 3rd accident. So this should be a good road test. And I hope that I'll still be able to stand up straight and walk without limping when I get there. Not sure yet how I'm going to be able to create the legroom I'll need for this long trip....

Take a chapter from Police Acadamy and pull a "Hightower". Remove the front seats and drive from the back........

I actually did that with my wife's 1982 Fiat Spider back in the mid-80s. Did it just for sh*ts and giggles one beautiful top-down Saturday morning. You should have seen the looks I got out on the road. Drove it around for maybe a half hour then came home and put the drivers seat back in place....

Now that's a visual! So, you guys had a Fiat Spider? So this whole PIA foriegn car stuff should be 'ol hat!

Jon,

This is worthless without pictures. No doubt Fiats aren't designed with 6 foot 7 inch drivers in mind. You are probably not the first person to drive from the back seat though. I'm guessing a lot of big and tall people have done that.

I'm only 5'10" and when I was shopping for a Mazda Miata some years ago I couldn't fit, my knees hit the front bolsters even with the seat all the way back.

Jeff,

The Spider was actually a pretty good car. Lots of fun for my wife and daughter and easy to fix for me. We kept it until it was replaced in 1986 by an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Spider. I could only drive the Alfa with the top down, and my head was a full six inches above the top of the windshield....

The biggest automotive disappointment I've ever had was back in the early 1990s when I was waiting for the release of the Acura NSX semi-exotic sports car. At the time we had an Acura Legend L that was a great car. Our Acura dealership called me as soon as they received their first NSX in the showroom because they were convinced I would buy it within two minutes of seeing it. I hustled over there, fell in love with the look of the car, and then was literally crushed when I discovered that I couldn't get in the thing even with a gallon of Wesson Oil and a box full of shoehorns. I knew then that I would never own an NSX. Still love those cars and I see a few of them on the road every now and then....

Update:

Our S-Type performed flawlessly on the trip to the mountains around Asheville last week. I put more than 600 miles on the car during the trip, and my wife has put another 100 miles or so on it since our return. No additional misfire codes, no check engine lights, no problems of any kind. Perhaps the new air filter housing, air filter element, and mass air flow sensor have indeed fixed our misfire issues for good. I'm not ruling out the IMT O-ring replacement procedure just yet, however. Time will tell....

Rick,

It sure did. We had a great time with beautiful weather. The Biltmore House and Estate is a spectacular place, still the largest private home in the country at 115 years old. My wife did not want to come home. But my wallet is glad that we did....
