If you don't have an OBD tool, disconnect battery for 2 mins. Car should be a bit lumpy after as it relearns fuelling, then smooth out.
I don't really recommend the above since you'll lose knowledge of what fault is stored. A very cheap £10 ish tool will read it and also can clear fault code(s).
If you do try batt off and light comes back, there's a fault.

JagV8 has posted many times about using the ELM327. He is right! I got one for $14 and it hooks to my laptop. So much data I am still learning all it can do. So much more than a simple code reader.
Data logging the fuel trims is just what you need to really see how the engine is running.
It's a bit of a learning curve but seems well worth it considering the cost and difficulty in getting to a Jaguar dealer.

got the car looked at 1st thing this morn and it was bank 1 cat running below efficency.
We think this was because the car had been running rough for a little while.
Cleared the fault and drove for 30 miles or so and all good so far.
very pleased with the car especially in sports mode and found out also i have the cats suspension.

Looks like they got it sorted out for you. That's great! I suspect, though, that you will continue to get the cat efficiency fault from time to time. Given the age on the car, the cats are likely at or near failure; especially given the running problems it's been through. Give it some time and see how it acts. Only time will tell.
Good luck!
