Default Moonroof maintenance

Shy of keeping the tracks clean what other maintenance should be performed on the monroof mechanism? What kind of grease or silicone should I us. Do I lube the slides only or focus as well on the cables? Any tips would be appreciated. Mine slides well now and would like to prevent future problems.

One simple answer.... Make sure the drains are cleaned out... BIG mess if one becomes clogged... Low pressure air should do it. Search for S Type Sunroof..There have been a few threads about it.

There are 1 or more big rubber gaskets associated with most "moonroofs". Treat them with liquid silicone every once in awhile. I like to drain a spray can of silicone into a seperate container and "paint" on the stuff with a brush.

This works well on door, boot, windshield and hood gaskets as well.
